ALLMI Operator Training

Hiab Training

The ALLMI Operator course consists of 15 module and is either one or two days in duration (depending on whether the candidate is a novice or experienced operator). Both the one and two days courses culminate in a written and practical examination.

The assessment process is set by ALLMI Ltd and administered by the instructor. It consists of two theoretical assessment and one practical. The theoretical assessment consists of a set of core multiple choice and ‘open’ questions, as well as questions which relate specifically to the crane attachment being used. The practical assessment is designed to identify whether the candidate has the appropriate practical skills to operate a lorry loader safely and efficiently.

Upon successful completion of the course, every candidate will receive an identity card and certificate and will be registered on the ALLMI Operator database. The certificate and identity card are valid for five years after which time refresher training and assessment will need to be undertaken. Both the identity card and certificate state the categories for which the operator is licensed. Candidates are receive the ALLMI Operator’s manual, which is used as a reference guide through out their career.

The strength of ALLMI training comes from the technical training knowledge on it’s Training Standards Committee. The Committee is made up for training and technical professionals from all the major loader crane manufacturers and importers within the UK.

In addition to the Health and Safety Executive is represented. The Committee develops, consults upon and maintains all the training standards set by ALLMI. ALLMI Operator training is the UK’s only lorry loader training programme to be commended by the Health & Safety Executive.
